Jack was a Chiropractor, body builder, and personal trainer who gained worldwide recognition for his success on his Television Show that ran nationwide for 34 years. He was and is still known as an American fitness, exercise, and nutritional expert, and motivational speaker who is widely referred to as "The Godfather of Fitness". Early Life

Jack LaLanne was born September 26, 1914 in San Francisco, CA and admittedly, during his childhood days was addicted to sugar and junk foods. At age 15, young Jack heard Paul Bragg speak on health and nutrition which had such a powerful influence, it motivated Jack to focus on his diet and exercise habits.

He studied  Gray's Anatomy of the Human Body, concentrated on bodybuilding, Chiropractic and weightlifting, something virtually unheard of in the 1930s. In 1936 he opened the very first modern health club and developed some of the modern equipment whose principles are still used today. Jack was truly a pioneer.
