My name is Andrew Clear. I wanted to write this in hopes that it would reach someone that can hear my story. I started juicing 30 days ago as a cleanse. My father died at the age of 62 from heart failure, my father in law who lived in Uzbekistan died at 63 from the same thing. I was well on my way down the same path until I had a chance to see a few documentaries on how to prevent such things from happening. They both never had the opportunity to meet my daughter of 16 months and another on the way. I felt saddened from that fact and did not want to miss out on all of the joys with my children because of poor eating habits. From that day forward I started eating better and juicing completely on the cleanse. Every one around me started seeing my results and quickly followed suit, from my sister to my aunt and other friends and family. The reason I wanted to write, is because I bought the juicer from Costco at a great price of $79.99, although my own business has suffered from the economy, and we have struggled for 2 years, I felt healthy eating/juicing to be more important than anything. I wanted to reach out and see if we could work together to educate others of the importance of having a healthier diet, especially those who have the same hereditary problems with heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. I have been documenting my progress with video and would like to post them in front of a vast audience or just post on my own. More importantly, what do you think we can do to work together and help others?

On June 13th 2012 the annual Hollywood High School Scholarships were awarded. The Jack and Janet LaLanne Scholarship Fund awarded four scholarships to four deserving students. Two were in athletics and the other two were in the area of performing arts. The reason why these scholarships are given at Hollywood High School is because it is the place where Janet got her formal training in the performing arts. So we decided to add Jack’s name to it and keep it moving forward. This scholarship fund has been in existence for over 35 years and was originally called the Janet LaLanne Scholarship Fund. Upon Jack’s passing last year, the name was changed to the Jack and Janet LaLanne Scholarship Fund. We originally gave scholarships in Janet’s name in the area of performing arts. Since Jack’s passing we have expanded it to athletics as well. Janet was tragically taken from us in an automobile accident in 1973. She was in a Summerstock play in Michigan on her way to New York to star in a Broadway Play. The LaLanne’s miss them both dearly. Pictured below are three of the four recipients of this years awards.
